Why Partnering with Municipalities and Local Associations

Discover Ogliastra is neither a generic commercial guide nor an ad-heavy hotel booking portal. It is a civic work of Destination Design created to overcome informational fragmentation and the narrow focus of peak-summer tourism.

The villages nestled in the mountains and internal valleys — guardians of the world-famous Blue Zone longevity, prehistoric nuragic heritage, and ancestral craftsmanship — enjoy the exact same editorial care and prestige as famous coastal beaches. We offer this platform to local Mayors, Tourism Councillors, Pro Loco associations, and cultural committees as a completely free, rigorous, and continually maintained public resource.

Opportunities for Public Entities

4 Free Public Services for the Region

1. Verified Town Hubs

Each of the 23 municipalities benefits from a dedicated destination hub: historical background, archaeological monuments (nuraghi, giant's tombs, domus de janas), authentic gastronomy, and verified local toponymy. Municipal offices can request updates anytime.

  • Field-verified trailhead GPS coordinates
  • Fully translated into 3 languages
  • Direct links to official municipal websites

2. Events & Sacred Traditions Calendar

Dedicated editorial coverage for Pro Loco associations and cultural committees. We publish official schedules, historical context, and visitor guides for cultural events: winter fires of St. Anthony, carnival rites, wine festivals, and holy week traditions.

  • National and international reach
  • Year-round off-season travel spotlight
  • Zero commercial intermediaries or commissions

3. Trail Safety & Outdoor Ethics

The rugged limestone Supramonte wilderness requires caution. For Baunei, Urzulei, Talana, Ulassai, Jerzu, and Villagrande we provide CAI safety guidelines, elevation profiles, natural spring locations, and mobile dead-zone notices to safeguard hikers.

  • Certified elevation and difficulty levels
  • Leave No Trace and eco-preservation notices
  • Heat precautions and hydration advice

4. Official Municipal Website Widget

We provide municipal webmasters with a lightweight, accessible code snippet ready to embed into official public portals (such as .gov.it sites), offering citizens and travelers a direct, interactive window into town highlights.

  • No invasive tracking or marketing cookies
  • Instant loading speed and responsive layout
  • Live code generator with real-time preview

A civic alliance to honor every village of our land

Dear Mayors, Councillors, Pro Loco Directors, and fellow Ogliastra residents,

Ogliastra cannot and must not be reduced to a 4-week summer postcard in August. Each of our 23 territories preserves millennia of archaeological history, sacred toponymy, breathtaking limestone canyons, and the extraordinary living heritage of our Blue Zone communities.

I designed and built Discover Ogliastra as an independent Civic Tech and Destination Design initiative: a gift to our homeland created to bridge the digital gap that too often leaves mountain villages isolated or encourages tourists to stay solely along the shorelines.

There are no profit motives, no venture funds, and no commercial brokers behind this platform. This infrastructure is completely open to your administrations, your municipal initiatives, your maintained footpaths, and the authentic celebrations you host across the winter and spring months.

I remain at your full disposal to share visitation analytics, support your cultural initiatives, and work together on an authoritative, cohesive regional strategy.

"Ogliastra thrives when it stands united. Our limestone peaks and coastal bays are not separate worlds, but a singular Mediterranean masterpiece that deserves to be known with deep respect."
