Feast of San Giorgio Martire

Elini's patron feast is dedicated to Saint George the Martyr and is the most important moment of the year for the community. The procession through the village streets, with the faithful dressed in traditional Ogliastra attire, is a moment of great emotional and visual intensity. Communal gatherings follow, with traditional food and music. The feast retains its authentic form, far removed from any form of tourist spectacle.

Almond Festival

In February, when Elini's almond trees are covered in their white and pink blossoms ahead of spring, the village celebrates this natural spectacle with a small festival dedicated to the almond. Traditional sweets, almond paste confections, amaretti biscuits and artisan liqueurs are offered by local producers. A perfect occasion to visit the village in the quieter season and discover its winter beauty.

Cellar openings — Local wine and olive oil

With the grape harvest and the olive picking, Elini opens its cellars and oil presses to visitors in autumn. It is the best time to buy locally produced extra-virgin olive oil, taste the new wine and meet the producers. An experiential and authentic form of tourism that unfolds in private homes and small farm operations across the village, with no stages or formal organisation.
