Feast of San Basilio Magno

Escalaplano's patron saint is celebrated with a procession in traditional Sardinian costume, music with launeddas and button accordion, and a large communal outdoor dinner. The feast lasts three days and draws visitors from neighbouring villages. It is one of the moments when the village shows its cultural identity with the greatest pride.

Night of the Menhirs — Pranu Muttedu

On certain summer evenings the Pranu Muttedu site opens at night for guided moonlit tours among the illuminated menhirs. The experience is one that stays with you: the silence, the shadows cast by the monoliths, the archaeologists' explanations transporting you three thousand years into the past. Places are limited; advance booking is required.

Festival of the Grape Harvest and Local Produce

At the end of summer, Escalaplano celebrates the grape harvest and the area's agricultural products with tastings of local wines, mostarda, traditional sweets and a craft market. An occasion to sample the quality of a still human-scale farming tradition and to meet the local producers.
