Feast of Sant'Elena

The patron saint of Esterzili is celebrated with a procession in traditional Sardinian dress, tenore choral singing and a communal lunch. The feast has an intimate and authentic character, far from any worldliness: it is a moment in which the village recognises itself in its own tradition with simplicity and depth. The month of May coincides with the pastures in bloom and nature at its peak.

Night of the Bronze Tablet

An evening dedicated to the history of the Tablet of Esterzili: a public reading of the Latin text with translation, a talk by a visiting archaeologist or historian, and a guided visit to the nuraghi of the surrounding territory at sunset. A niche cultural event that draws history and archaeology enthusiasts from across Sardinia.

Dates to be confirmed each year

Festival of Pecorino and Traditional Cheeses

Esterzili celebrates its bond with shepherding through a festival dedicated to local cheeses: aged pecorino, DOP Fiore Sardo, steaming ricotta and fresh cheese are displayed and tasted alongside pane carasau flatbread, local wine and sweets made with ricotta and honey. The shepherds of the village open their farms for visits.
