Around 50 km from Esterzili, the beaches of Muravera offer some of the finest stretches of coastline in southern Sardinia: pale sand, crystal-clear water and shallow depths ideal for families. The road that descends from the mountains through the Sarrabus is spectacular. It is well worth combining a visit to the village with a day at the sea.

Flumendosa reservoir lake

The large artificial basin of the Flumendosa lies just a few kilometres from Esterzili and offers a strikingly evocative lakeside landscape, surrounded by mountains and Mediterranean vegetation. A resting point for migratory birds, it is frequented by anglers and by those seeking contact with nature away from the coast. Not a beach, but an alternative destination of great beauty.
