Foxi Manna

Time: 10 min from the SS125 Difficulty: Easy

One of the longest and most unspoilt beaches in southern Ogliastra, Foxi Manna stretches for nearly two kilometres of fine, light-golden sand. The sea shelves gently, making it suitable for families with children. The hinterland is characterised by dense, fragrant Mediterranean scrub. The beach is reached via a dirt track and remains uncrowded even in high season, preserving an almost primordial atmosphere. There are no permanent facilities: anyone who comes must bring everything they need, but this very absence grants a rare freedom.

Easy

Sarrala

Time: 15 min from the SS125 Difficulty: Easy

Sarrala is a long ribbon of white sand punctuated by dunes and maritime pines whose scent drifts through the salty air. The sea here is crystal-clear, with hues ranging from turquoise to emerald green depending on the light. It is a beach of great breadth — almost three kilometres of accessible coastline, with shallow waters in the first stretch and deeper water towards the north. On weekday mornings out of season you may encounter only the seagulls. In summer visitor numbers rise, but the length of the shoreline still guarantees space for everyone. One of Ogliastra's least celebrated gems.

Easy

Cea

Time: 20 min from Tertenia Difficulty: Easy

Just across the border with Barisardo but often associated with the territory of Tertenia, the beach of Cea is famous for the two red granite towers that rise from the sea like sentinels. The sand is pale and fine, the water perfectly clear. Access is straightforward and there are some seasonal services. It is one of the most photographed beaches in southern Ogliastra — the red rocks at sunset create scenes of rare chromatic beauty.
