Cea Beach (Red Rocks)

⏱️ Time: 5 minutes on foot from the car park Difficulty: Easy

Cea Beach owes its fame to the distinctive red porphyry rocks that frame it, creating an extraordinary chromatic contrast with the pale sand and turquoise sea. It is one of the most photographed places in Sardinia. The rocks provide natural shade and small tidal pools perfect for snorkelling.

Porto Frailis

⏱️ Time: Direct — town centre Difficulty: Easy

Porto Frailis is the town beach of Tortolì, nestled in a small sheltered bay with golden sand and gently sloping seabed. Lively and well-equipped, with beach clubs, bars and restaurants just steps from the water, it is the favourite spot for locals to swim in the evening and enjoy a sunset aperitif.

Basaura

⏱️ Time: 15 minutes on foot from the dirt car park Difficulty: Moderate

A semi-wild beach north of Arbatax, reached via a short trail through Mediterranean scrubland. The waters are deep and intensely coloured; the setting is secluded and favoured mostly by sailors and divers who appreciate the rocky seabed rich in posidonia and marine life.

San Gemiliano

⏱️ Time: Direct — adjacent car park Difficulty: Easy

A small sandy beach near the eponymous country church, surrounded by low dunes and protected dune vegetation. It is one of the least crowded stretches of shoreline in the municipal territory, ideal for those seeking silence. The sea is calm and shallow, with a sandy bottom that makes it suitable for children.
