Montarbu Forest

Villagrande Strisaili Moderate ⏱️ 3–5 hours

One of the most unspoilt state forests in Ogliastra, with monumental holm oaks, downy oaks and strawberry trees forming a dense, shady canopy. The main trail winds through clearings, streams and rocky outcrops, offering a complete immersion in the primordial nature of the Gennargentu. Sightings of Sardinian deer and golden eagles are not uncommon.
